The bi-annual Top Green Organisation awards which are run by the Department of Economic Development, Environmental Affairs and Tourism in conjunction with the Institute of Waste Management. The aim of the Awards Programme is to promote and recognize responsible Environmental Management Practices in the Eastern Cape while fostering better relationships between government, industry, business and other organisations .

The competition will focus on your organizations efforts to manage Air Quality, Biodiversity, Climate Change, Energy Efficiency, Water and Waste issues. This competition is open to any organization, large or small, in the EC which seeks to manage environmental risks (aspects) in a controlled manner, thereby minimizing the environmental impacts of the activity while at the same time containing costs. Golf Day - 9th of October - West Bank Golf Course, East-London

West Bank Golf Course is situated near East London in the Eastern Cape Province. This is a true links kind of golf course with a layout to challenge the average golfer. Although the fairways are wide , you still have to hit the ball straight - otherwise a drop shot will easily follow.

Good chipping and putting will keep your score card looking impressive. With a lovely view over the Indian Ocean from most of the tee boxes and greens , this course is a must visit to the competitive golfer visiting East London or the Eastern Cape region.

General Information

The request for abstracts has been very well supported and some very interesting papers will be presented at Wastecon. The provisional programme will be available soon so please watch out for it.

Technical Tour information coming soon. Various tours are being considered that will run through out the WasteCon 2012 Conference & Exhibition. Each tour is R150.00 per person per tour.
